US imports slip in June
US imports appear to have ticked down in June, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing US Census Bureau data, the institute puts June imports at 2.02 million total short tons – 1.71m st of which was finished. That’s down -2.5% and -8.3%, respectively, from May.
Through the first half, the US imported 15.62m st total, 11.68m st finished – down -12.7% and -16.7%, respectively, from H1 2018.
