US plate prices take modest hike on-week
US plate prices increased this week to $1,480-1,500/short ton from $1,470-1,500/st, Kallanish reports. Increases from SSAB and Nucor were issued earlier in the month, creating slight upward momentum from the prior week.
“Increases seem to be sticking, but we won't see the full effect until next month. I am hearing HRC keeps moving up and sticking. Nucor is still looking at June before they are really rolling,” says a plate distributor.
