US rigs fall by 8, Canada up 8
The US and Canadian rig counts swung in equal and opposite directions in the week ended 27 September, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count fell by eight net rigs to 860, down 194 from last year.
Rigs geared for oil production fell by six, while rigs geared for natural gas production fell by two.
Texas led the notable losses by state with five. No state posted a net rig count increase.
