US rigs fall by 21, Canada down 2
Both the US and Canadian rig counts continued to deteriorate in the week ended 22 May, Kallanish learns from energy services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count fell by 21 net rigs to 318, down 665 from last year.
All lost rigs were geared for oil production.
Texas again led the notable net losses by state with 12, followed by New Mexico with three.
The Canadian count, meanwhile, fell by two net rigs to 21, or down 57 from last year.
