US stainless surcharges fall in June
US stainless surcharges appear to have ticked down from May to June, Kallanish learns.
Based on published surcharge lists from Outokumpu USA, North American Stainless, Allegheny Technologies Inc, and AK Steel, the surcharge for austenitic type 304 coil fell from about $0.57/pound in May to $0.54/lb in June.
Likewise, the surcharge for martensitic type 316 coil fell from $0.74/lb in May to $0.69/lb in June.
