US stainless surcharges to retreat in June
US stainless surcharges are slated to fall for June shipments, Kallanish learns from pricing letters released by major players North American Stainless, AK Steel, and Allegheny Technologies Inc.
Representative product 304 surcharges are set to decrease from about $0.62-0.73/pound to $0.58-0.61/lb.
Though each company calculates its surcharges slightly different, most all are heavily based on the price of inputs two months prior to the shipment month.
