US Steel restarts Midwest Plant following rust discharge
US Steel’s Portage, Indiana, Midwest Plant is back online following an unexpected discharge of rusty wastewater.
A company spokesperson confirmed that the finishing operation is back to normal operation. An investigation into the wastewater discharge - which alarmed community members due to its orange colour - is still on-going, she says.
