Webco triples profits on year
US specialty tubing maker Webco saw a three-fold increase in net profits in its fiscal first quarter, Kallanish understands.
In the quarter ended 31 October, Webco earned $9.8 million on sales of $137m, up from net income of $3m on sales of $114m in fiscal Q1 2017.
Ceo Dana Weber attributes the increase to US trade action and a generally strong steel pricing environment.
