Weda Bay produces first NPI
The Weda Bay project in Indonesia, a joint venture between China’s Tsingshan Group, France’s Eramet, and Indonesia’s Aneka Tambang, tapped its first metal on 30 April, Eramet says. The nickel pig iron project will eventually have capacity for 30,000 tonnes/year of contained nickel, Kallanish notes.
