WISCO shuts down China's first blast furnace
Wuhan Iron & Steel (WISCO) issued a shutdown order for its No.1 blast furnace on 14 October, Kallanish notes. As the first blast furnace built after the founding of the People's Republic of China, the facility will be retained as a national industrial heritage site.
