Brazil's January pig iron production slips, exports rebound
Brazilian pig iron output decreased month-on-month in January and remained weaker year-on-year. Export volumes rose sharply during the month, Kallanish notes.
According to data issued by the local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB), January pig iron output was 2.13 million tonnes, down 2.9% m-o-m and 3.6% less on-year, IAB data show.
