Chinese scrap holds, market activity recovers
China's scrap market was steadier last week, with scrap arrivals and consumption picking up significantly compared from the first week after the Spring Festival holiday.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,909/tonne ($404/t), including VAT. This is CNY 4/t higher from Thursday and up CNY 2/t from a week before.
