Global crude steel production rises, led by India
Global crude steel production increased 0.58% year-on-year in October to 150.03 million tonnes, as volume growth in India, Japan and South Korea overcame a drop in output from Chinese and large European suppliers, Kallanish notes from worldsteel data. October’s on-year volume growth represented a rebound after steel production posted a y-o-y decline in September.
October production was down 0.33% sequentially from September, however.
