India's SME installing stainless steel flats production
Indian steel and metals manufacturer Shyam Metalics and Energy (SME) is pursuing a foray into stainless steel hot rolled coil (HRC) flat products, notes Kallanish.
The company's new stainless steel HRC facility will be located at its existing plant in Sambalpur, Odisha. It will have a production capacity of 0.3 million tonnes/year and will require a capital outlay of INR 6.5-7.5 billion ($77.9-89.9 million).
