Turkey's September scrap imports decline further
Turkish scrap imports continued their decline in September. They fell 22.3% on-year to 1.071 million tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. They were also down from 1.506mt in August.
Over 99%, or 1.064mt, of the September imports were obsolete scrap. The average price of this scrap was $371.5/tonne, down from $386 in September 2022 and $392/t in August 2023.
