Turkish scrap continues uptick on fresh deals
Scrap prices in Turkey have continued the upward trend on fresh deals, although some market participants doubt further rises.
On 25 March, a European supplier sold two cargoes to western Turkish and Marmara mills at $385.5/tonne cfr Turkey for HMS 1&2 80:20. The previous deal of the same origin and grade was concluded at $380/t cfr at the end of last week.
US suppliers are seeking $395/t and above, while there are offers from the EU at around $390/t.
