Imbalanced supply, demand pressure Turkish scrap prices
Turkish mills’ appetite for scrap purchases remained weak on Friday ahead of the week-long Eid holiday.
However, there were many suppliers offering material in the market, causing supply to outpace demand and pressure prices.
The latest deal was heard earlier in the week from the US at $384/tonne cfr Turkey for HMS 1&2 80:20 and $404/t cfr for shredded and bonus (see Kallanish passim).
