Vale Oman elevates output on pellet feed availability
Vale’s Oman-based iron ore pelletising plant saw production grow 21.5% on-quarter and 50.2% on-year in the fourth quarter of 2021 to 2.62 million tonnes, with 12-month output up 7.1% on-year to 8.16mt. This was due to higher pellet feed availability and less maintenance downtime, the Brazilian miner says.
Oman production accounted for 28.9% of Vale’s consolidated pellet output in Q4 2021 versus 24.5% a year earlier, Kallanish notes.
