Railway disruption curbs LKAB deliveries despite higher output
LKAB’s third-quarter iron ore deliveries fell 5% on-year to 6.3 million tonnes despite a 6% rise in production to 7mt, as maintenance work during the summer on the Ore Railway limited transport capacity for the period, Kallanish notes.
Net sales fell 12% to SEK 10.8 billion ($970 million), with net profit down 13% to SEK 4 billion, due to lower prices for highly upgraded iron ore products and lower delivery volumes.
