Russian ministry denies tinplate shortage, imports continue
Russia has sufficient supply of tinplate, which is produced domestically by MMK and imported from Belarus and China, says the Ministry of Industry and Trade, contrary to reports of shortages.
MMK produces an average of 175,000 tonnes/year of tinplate. The volume of imports from China in January-June amounted to 24,000t, the ministry claims.
