Severstal increases exports for Belarussian tinplate output
Russian steelmaker Severstal increased deliveries of hot-rolled pickled steel of the new M1 grade to Belarus in 2022, intended for the production of tinplate.
The company exported more than 50,000 tonnes, up by 2.5 times compared to the previous year, Kallanish notes.
Tinplate is widely used in the food industry, for example, in the manufacture of containers for canned meat and vegetables, packaging of condensed milk, drinks, as well as paints and varnishes.
