Turkey’s IDC starts meltshop cold tests
Turkish long steel producer Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has completed the installation of its new meltshop and started cold tests, the firm says in a bourse filing seen by Kallanish.
Hot tests are planned to begin by the end of the second quarter.
IDC aims to double melting capacity from 1.4 million tonnes/year to 2.8m t/y (see Kallanish passim). The long-delayed meltshop investment started in 2021.
